Organizing that next Wii party should be a little easier, thanks to Evite's series of suggestions. August 9, 2007 @ 12:49 - Ali All around the world, Nintendo hyped up its Wii console prior to its big launch last year by organizing Wii parties. And following the console's big debut, fans everywhere gathered for their own events. Nintendo knows the party power the console possesses, and Nintendo of America has teamed up with Evite, by offering Wii party planners a little help in co-ordinating their events. Evite has offered up a trio of party themes, and suggests on its site Mario Party, Wii Sports, or games of all kind for a family reunion. "When it comes to a successful Wii party, it’s less about what you put on the walls than where you put the furniture," it says. Comfort is key to a successful Wii party as well, it continues, adding that the attire should consist of clothing that allows for a full range of movement, like jeans, t-shirts, sneakers or bare feet. Setting up multiple Wii consoles and hosting a full-on tournament is one of the activity suggestions too. It says players could be be awarded prizes, like best all-round Wii player of the player with the hottest moves. And, what would a party be without food and drinks? Featured recipes are on offer, and to keep in theme with a Mario party, stuffed mushrooms and pizza are perfect, it says. For Rayman Raving Rabbids, though, it suitably suggests Welsh Rabbit. A Wii-ed up Whiskey Sweet and Sour cocktail should cover drinks, but for the non-alcoholic route, Evite suggests energy drinks, soda and bottled water... Nintendo's American vice president of marketing, Perrin Kaplan, recently explained that "Wii parties are something Nintendo has been following since Wii launched last year. We wanted to contribute to the trend by helping it to grow organically by working with Evite to suggest topics and designs." If you've hosted a Wii party, or plan to, be sure to tell us all about it!
